McIntyre System FINALLY Scrapped

After bearing the brunt of a concerted rant effort by the boys at, as well as cries from the millions of NRL Fans, the NRL has finally succumbed and scrapped the much maligned McIntyre system for the finals series, moving to the AFL model. From this season, the top four teams play for the right to have a week off, while giving the losers a second chance, while the bottom four enter knockout stage from day 1.

We have said for some time, that fans and the players deserve certainty when their teams are in the finals, and finally the NRL have listened and made the stage. Maybe, the ego is being removed from the league and decisions are being made with the fans in mind!!! Hooray.
