The Wigan Warriors started well with a well rehearsed kick focusing on Jamie Soward was plucked over Soward's head by former Knights winger George Carmont for the Warriors to score a shock 6-0 lead. The Warriors continued then to take penalty kicks at goal when in range, and took the lead out to 8-0, before the Dragons snapped back with the first of Brett Morris's tries.
A Wigan field goal, right on half-time broke a 14 all deadlock and allowed the Warriors to lead into oranges.

The NRL Footy Season has been meandering on now for a few weeks with some trial games and the like, but it starts to ramp up this weekend with the NRL All-Stars taking on the Indigenous All Stars at Skilled Stadium on the Gold Coast. Being on the Coast this morning, the hype and visitors in town for the game were evident in Surfers Paradise. Let's hope the game and the atmosphere again lives up to the hype. It is one of those games that you really don't mind who wins, as long as it entertains.
The Charity Shield on the other hand, marks the Official start to the season for Dragons Fans and long suffering Rabbitohs fans. The game is typically hard and played with some emotion and every time Souths win, it starts the emotional roller coaster of the season, while Saints fans live with the result. This time, the defending Premiers are playing in this game, and it has been a long wait to say that. Rabbitohs fans will be wanting to say the same thing in 2012.
Anyway folks, its game on. NRL2011.

Aaron Rogers (pictured) proved to be the big difference, and if his receivers had caught what they should have, the game would never have been in doubt. The Steelers proved how tough they are as a team and never gave up, but it was the Packers that deserved the win and the Vince Lombardi trophy returning to Green Bay.
