Bob Jones Rout Grisson 63-0 in Homecoming Win
MADISON, Alabama – Bob Jones quarterback Jeffery Moss paced the Patriots in the first half by throwing for three touchdowns and plunging in for a 1-yard scoring run. Moss passed for 157 yards on 11 of 15 completions in the first two quarters. The Patriots amassed 329 yards of a total 433 yards in the first half. Bob Jones held the Tigers to six straight three-and-outs before Grissom gained its initial first down midway through the second quarter. Nick Beavers scored on a 1-yard run with 10:58 remaining in the first quarter. After a short Grissom punt, the Patriots drove 40-yards as Jay Rodgers scored on an 11-run with 7:37 in the first quarter. Kevin Wright followed with a 22-yard run to finish a 25-yard drive. Moss threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Nick Richardson with 10 seconds remaining. Moss threw his final touchdown pass of the first half with a 6-yard strike to Jemel Harper. Moss ran in from the 1 with 1:16 remaining as the Patriots led 49-0 at the half. Running back Jay Rogers opened the second-half scoring for Bob Jones on a 36-yard run with 7:11 left in the third quarter. Will Ragland closed the scoring for Bob Jones with an 88-yard interception return with 1:08 left in the fourth quarter. Grissom gained 223 total yards, led by running back Greg Williams's 100 rushing yards on 15 carries. Tiger quarterback Hayden Henderson finished 13 of 25 passing for 91 yards. The Patriots have outscored their opponents this season 191-27. Bob Jones improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in 6A, Region 8. Grissom fell to 1-3, 1-2. The Huntsville Times, September 16, 2011.
