Friday Night Footy Round 1

Week ONE and it's Friday Night Footy. Watched the Broncos take on the Cowboys at Suncorp. Everything is a bit strange at Suncorp at the moment with temporary amenities for the players after the January Floods. The Broncos have switched dugouts as well, and this may have been the reason for their subdued loss tonight to the Cowboys 16-14. The Cowboys led 16-10 at half-time, and the game was poised to highlight the skills of both sides. Instead the conditions meant that the spillt ball was the over-riding memory and while the Broncos stormed home to some degree, the Cowboys ran out the ultimate winners.

The other game appears a classic see-sawing fixture which saw the Roosters ultimately come from behind to defeat the Rabbitohs 40-29. The Chooks led 28-6, but like 2010, the Rabbitohs made a game of it to draw level at 28 all, then snatch a field goal to go 29-28. However, the Bondi boys were just too strong and ran out winners 40-29. Greg Inglis scored in his first game for the Rabbitohs.
