Dragons Snare Charity Shield
For the first time since 2007, the St George Illawarra Dragons have defeated Souths 32-10 in the Annual Charity Shield fixture which becomes the "Official" Taste of NRL every season. This year, both sides fielded some exciting new talent and this was most evident by Jack Bosden who was super impressive with his hit-ups and tackling. Darius Boyd also made it a personal mission to keep Rhys Wesser second guessing retirement, while Bronx Goodwin had a good start in Dragons Colours. Souths, missing Greg Inglis and Sam Burgess started well, but lacked the finesse of the Dragons, while the Dragons were poor early with cheap errors and simple turnovers.
