October 8th- The Permian Panthers were unable to rebound from a series of turnovers, mistakes, and missed opportunities, dropping a 41-7 decision to Midland High in the District 3-5A opener on Friday. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-0 lead on the strength of a 63 yard touchdown run by Tyler Middleton, and a 42 yard field goal by Jake Forrester. Greg George gave MOJO a chance to score with a 42 yard run to the Bulldogs’ 4-yard line early in the second quarter. But a procedure penalty negated a Tra Fay touchdown catch, forcing a 29-yard field goal attempt that sailed wide left. On the next possession DeAnthony Fay finally put the Panthers on the board with a 74-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs answered with a 13 yard touchdown pass for a 17-7 lead at the half.
