Titans Outplayed and Outcoached

The Sydney Roosters are just one game away from an amazing fairytale of last to first, when they steamrolled the Gold Coast Titans 32-6 tonight at Suncorp Stadium. The Roosters made the Titans looked pedestrian tonight, while defensively the Titans had no answers against the Roosters attacking machine. It was an incredibly disappointing performance from the Titans, and it must be said that the tactics of coach John Cartwright in playing Preston Campbell in preference to last start Man of the Match William Zillman must be questioned. Zillman made schoolboy errors and was obviously down in confidence, while Campbell was off the pace. The coaching decision, favoring a club legend and favourite, over the clear form player, was just poor and really paved the way for the loss.

Matty Rogers played his 199th and last game of rugby league tonight, and probably deserved to go out on another note. However, it really does now set the scene for an amazing opportunity for the Chooks to go from the shithouse to the penthouse, as well as the reclamation of Todd Carney. This time last year he fronted up for the Atherton Roosters in a losing Grand Final, and he would be hoping for a better result in 2010.
