Panthers' 'spark' doused by turnover binge

jperson@charlotteobserver.comWith another turnover-marred game - this one on a soggy field - the spark Carolina Panthers coach John Fox was seeking by starting a new quarterback turned into a flameout.
Rookie Jimmy Clausen had three of the Panthers' four turnovers in his first NFL start Sunday at waterlogged Bank of America Stadium and Carolina remained winless with a 20-7 loss to Cincinnati.
The score was the same as last week's defeat to Tampa Bay. And despite the change at quarterback, the results remained the same for a wheezing Panthers offense averaging four turnovers and one touchdown per game.
