Ivan Henjak has some tough decisions to make about the WOW Brisbane Broncos team for Friday night’s match against Penrith.
The Broncos will face the Panthers as the first game (7pm kick-off) of the big double header, with the Titans and Bulldogs to follow at 8.45pm.
But with three Queensland players - Darren Lockyer, Sam Thaiday and Israel Folau - to hopefully back up from tomorrow night’s Origin match into a team that belted Souths 50-22 last weekend, Henjak has some tough decisions to make.
In addition, Nick Kenny has finally beaten a calf injury and has flagged his availability after a long time on the sideline.
What it all means is that three players are going to have to miss out this week, and probably will feel a bit hard done by, even after one of the stars from last week, Corey Norman, was relegated to under-20s.
It will be a difficult call for Henjak, but he said the upside was things were looking good for the Broncos.
“It’s a healthy thing to happen to a club,” said Henjak.
“Some good players are going to miss out and that’s probably going to happen at other times during the season.
“The big picture is that the team comes first.”
