Knights Steal in a Soaker

The Knights and Eels played out a gripping mistake-a-thon game of football tonight in Newcastle tonight. Heavy downpours prior to the game, made even the best players slip and slide and made the football the equivalent of a cake of soap. For periods of the game, the crowd would cheer a successful completion of a set of six.

Nil all for much of the first hour of the game, the Eels scored first through a sliding try to Justin Horo. When it looked like the Eels would close out the game at 4-0, the Knights endured an lengthy Video Ref decision to score a try through Junior Sau, which Kurt Gidley converted from the sideline to score the 6-4 victory.

The game was a thriller, with spills of both the human and football side. The game also featured some brain explosions from the angry man, Timana Tahu who was lucky to escape being sent off for some early stupidity. At least his upcoming suspension will alleviate the dramas of whether he gets picked for the final State of Origin.
