News From the Broncos Round 1

IVAN Henjak has backed debutant Corey Norman to show his 'tricks' after rolling the dice on the 19-year-old for Friday's blockbuster against the Cowboys.

Norman beat Josh Hoffman to the no.1 jersey, vacated by Karmichael Hunt last year, after excelling throughout the pre-season.

"It wouldn't have mattered who we picked at fullback, it was going to be a gamble," said Henjak.

"We lost a great player in Karmichael and had to find a replacement.

"The fellows who have trained there in pre-season have done very well.

"But Corey got the nod.

"He has trained very well, he trialled really well and he's got a few extra tricks up his sleeve."
