Monday Night Thrillers Start Again

The recent history of magic night Monday Night Thrillers, seems to have continued for 2010 with Manly and the Wests Tigers playing out a rip snorter to open proceedings.

In an absolute fairytale, Lote Tuquiri scored with his first touch back in the NRL, but it was Manly who blazed away for much of the first half to lead 20-4 at half-time.

Manly were under penalty pressure in the second half, and appeared to lose intensity due to this, giving the Tigers the chance to get back into the game. However it still took until the 60th minute mark for the Tigers to pounce back a try and get the score to 20-10. With just seven minutes left on the clock, the scoreline was 22-20 and two minutes later theTiges had the lead 26-22, which they held to the end.

A  shot around the chops on a player falling in a tackle, by big George Rose, created some final seconds drama with players rushing in, which ensured that the fans from both sides left with their blood flashing around their veins.

A great game of footy to finish off Round 1 of NRL2010.
