The New Zealand Warriors have trounced the Brisbane Broncos 48-16 at Suncorp Stadium today.
The Broncos actually snared the lead early in the second half only to be overwhelmed by the relentless Kiwis. The win marks the start of the Kiwi march to prove their many critics wrong.
The big talking point out of the match will be the injuries. Brisbane appear to have lost Israel Folou, Denan Kemp and Matt Gillett to join the already sidelined Corey Parker. The New Zealand Warriors have lost Manu Vatuvei, Aaron Hermaia while Michael Luck suffered a bad head cut that required treatment.
The early season promise from the Broncos has now been placed by the harsh realism that affects them this year. Based on current form, you would be expecting Darren Lockyer to be announcing soon his representitive retirement, as he will have his hands full guiding this young Brisbane side.Another couple of early losses will put them in danger zone of missing the finals, especially with the State of Origin period coming up.Their forwards appear a willing defensive unit, (although todays scoreline would disagree with that) but they are missing real impact in attack.
